Ever-grateful Telangana remembers Prof Jayashankar

Telangana State on Saturday celebrated Prof. Jayashankar’s 82nd birth anniversary on a grand scale. At Telangana Bhavan, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao paid floral tributes to the bust-size statue of Telangana ideologue and offered glorifying tributes. As per the directive of the Chief Minister, all the government offices and institutions conducted Prof. Jayashankar’s Jayanti celebrations across the State. Along with the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahamood Ali, Home Minister Nayani Narsimha Reddy, Ministers, MPs K Keshava Rao, MLAs, Mayor Bonthu Rammohan and others participated in the programme. To mark the occasion, the TRS leaders and activists cut a cake and distributed sweets and exchanged pleasantries. The Chief Minister recalled the services of Prof. Jayashankar Sir, who sacrificed his entire life for the cause of statehood for Telangana and social cause. KCR exhorted the TRS leaders and partymen to work with commitment for the State’s development. IT & Industries Minister KT Rama Rao garlanded a statue of Prof. Jayashankar at Agriculture University at Rajendra Nagar and paid rich tributes. On the occasion, he vowed that the State government would go ahead with Prof. Jayashankar’s ideology for inclusive growth. “Taking inspiration from Jayashankar Sir, we are making relentless efforts for providing jobs to youth, get water share and spend funds for the rapid development of the State with a focus on welfare. Chief Minister KCR was following the path shown by Prof. Jayashankar for transforming the State into Golden Telangana”, he said. KTR advised the Opposition parties to stop creating hurdles to the developmental process. In Warangal, Deputy Chief Minister (Education) Kadiyam Srihari paid rich tributes to Prof. Jayashankar and recalled his services for the education sector and efforts for rightful share of jobs, waters and funds. “Prof. Jayashankar spread the statehood among other districts and got the people united for achieving Telangana State. KCR has redesigned the projects and making efforts to draw rightful share of waters from the Krishna and Godavari rivers”, he said. He lambasted the Opposition leaders for crying foul on the Kaleshwaram lift-irrigation scheme. In Nalgonda district, TRS MP Kavitha offered floral tributes to Prof. Jayashankar on his 82nd Jayanthi along with party leaders. Telangana Jagruthi conducted the celebrations and the leaders distributed sweets on the occasion. Prof. Jayashankar was a towering personality, who strove for social inclusion and welfare of the people by achieving statehood, she said. Jagruthi is celebrating its 10th anniversary on the same day, she added.
