Why defy courts all the time, BJP's Laxman asks TRS

Reacting to the judgment of the Hyderabad High Court which rejected the appointments of seven Vice-Chancellors, BJP Telangana State unit president Dr K Laxman said on Thursday that the judgment was a slap on the face of the TRS government. The observation of the High Court -- what was the necessity for the appointment of VCs through a GO without waiting for a day or two when the matter was about to come up in the court -- the BJP chief said it seemed the KCR government had no respect for the courts of law. It should have waited till the judgment came up when it was sitting on the matter for over two and half years, he quipped. It was not first time that the High Court had expressed its displeasure on the action of the State government. Even in earlier occasions, including during the GHMC elections, the High Court had expressed its unhappiness on its action, he reminded. The negligence of the state government had made the education system so bad and such situation had arisen that the state may loose UGC grants for universities, Dr Laxman observed. There were schools without teachers. He described that free education from KG to PG had become a mere slogan of the government and he held the government responsible for leakage of EAMCET paper.
