BC leader demands Rs 25000 Cr funds for the community

BJP state Backward Classes Morcha president and former MLA V Sriramulu demanded that the State government release Rs 25,000 crore under the BC sub-plan for the welfare of BCs in Telangana. Sriramulu, in a statement, expressed concern that out of seven Vice-Chancellors appointed by the TRS government, only two belonged to the BCs, whereas 52 per cent population belonged to the backward classes in the State. Demanding more opportunities for the BCs in the State, the BJP leader said that the budget allocation for study circles for the BC students should be increased and a sanction of Rs 200 Cr for 11 BC handicrafts federations made. Sriramulu also asked the government to release Rs 6400 crore for the reimbursement of fees to the BC students, which is pending for the last two years. He demanded a BC commission to look into the welfare of the community.
