Srisailam reservoir water release schedule notified

The AP Chief Secretary has reviewed the water position in various reservoirs and the possibility of releasing water from the Srisailam reservoir to various projects. It is expected that the monsoon will be good this year. As the reservoirs in Karnataka are almost full and the Jurala reservoir is also full, inflows are expected now to the Srisailam reservoir. It is proposed to draw water from the Srisailam Reservoir to various projects as and when the storage level is attained as follows: When the reservoir level reaches +840.000 Ft, (Capacity of Reservoir is 62.000 TMC), seven pumps of HNSS will be operated drawing 2,300 cusecs and the reservoirs of Krishnagiri, Pattikonda and Jeedipalli will be filled and water will also be impounded in the Gollapalli reservoir. When the reservoir level reaches +854.000 Ft, (Capacity of Reservoir is 91.830 TMC), water will be drawn for Pothireddypadu for supplying water to SRBC, Telugu Ganga Project, GNSS and Chennai water supply.
