Rajnath Singh in Srinagar to talk to people

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh rushed to Srinagar on Saturday even as violence is continuing in the valley. He immediately held talks with the directors-general of the CRPF, the police and the Indo-Tibetan Police Force. He is also going to hold a high-level meeting on the security situation. Rajnath Singh would be meeting Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and Governor Narendrernath Vohra. The situation in Kashmir turned for the worse following the killing of Hizbul Commander Burhan Wani, a home-grown terrorist, by security forces. Since the Wani killing, some 45 people had died in continuing violence, fueled by separatists and Pakistan. The Home Minister is expected to meet the common people to assuage their feelings. Already the government decided to do away with pellet guns that have not halted the violence but caused injuries to more number of people.
