Nanduri takes over as DGP, Ramudu given salute

Senior AP cadre IPS officer, Nanduri Sambasivarao, on Saturday took over as in-charge Director-General of Police of Andhra Pradesh from the retiring DGP Jasti Venkata Ramudu. He took over the charge from JV Ramudu at a ceremony at the Parade Grounds in Vijayawada. Earlier, the outgoing DGP was given a grand send-off at a parade in the ground. Four AP battalions had saluted their outgoing chief. The entire police top brass of the State was present at the send-off. Speaking on the occasion, the new DGP said that while the new State was going through initial throes, Ramudu had efficiently steered the police force. While there were not many facilities available, the DGP had taken many initiatives for the new force. The outgoing DGP thanked the police top brass down to constable for co-operating with him in the onerous task. None in the force had questioned him on the lack of facilities. They all co-operated with him.
