TRS MPs join law students to demand TS High court

A team of TRS MPs on Friday joined law students staging protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, demanding a separate High Court for Telangana. The MPs Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, Bibi Patil, Sitharam Naik, K. Prabhakar Reddy, D.Srinivas and Capt. V. Lakshmikantha Rao extended solidarity to the law students' struggle and shouted slogans against the Centre for its obstinate attitude against a splitting of the AP High Court. The TRS MPs accused the Centre of adopting delaying tactics despite repeated appeals by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on the issue. The TRS had time and again raised the issue in Parliament, though the Centre was still buying time. They also fumed at the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for avoiding clarity, though the TS Government had already shown an alternative site for the HC in Hyderabad in this regard. The TRS took potshots at the AP Government for misguiding the Centre by saying that there was no place for a high court, though the TRS Government is ready with an alternate site in Hyderabad. The AP Government is hatching a conspiracy to get judges and judicial official posts meant for Telangana state, they alleged. `We will not allow injustice to be meted out to TS state and will intensify protest in Parliament,' they warned. Prime Minister Narendra Modi should direct the union law ministry to sort out the issue through a meeting of two chief ministers in the presence of high court chief justice and Governor for an amicable solution. It may be said here that the high court on Thursday made a vain bid to seek the opinion of the Centre on the demand. The HC also expressed dismay at the counsel representing the Centre for not giving an assurance about making alternative arrangements in Hyderabad until a new high court is built in Andhra Pradesh.
