SC gives notices to Mathiah, ACB on TS plaint

The Supreme Court on Friday agreed to reopen the case against Jerusalem Mathiah, accused in the vote-for-note case that set fire between the Telugu States. Mathiah was the one who allegedly brokered a deal between the Nominated Telangana MLA Stephenson and Telugu Desam leaders. As the TV channels began playing the vote-for-note video, Mathiah took shelter in Andhra and surfaced only after the Hyderabad High Court granted him bail. The Supreme Court issued notices to Mathiah and the Telangana ACB, which pursued the case. The court told them to respond within 4 weeks. The High Court had passed strictures against Stephenson for asking the Judge to be recused.
