SVIMS tells private hospitals not to send in patients
Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS) is a leading hospital at Tirupati catering to patients in the Rayalaseema. In terms of medical aid, it has been doing yeoman service in the region, although not comparable with NIMS in Hyderabad. The hospital has caused a surprise by sending out a circular to private hospitals in Chittoor and Cuddapah districts not to send emergency cases to it, without giving any reason. Apparently, the hospital has its hands full of work handling complicated cases of government hospitals. SVIMS, funded by the TTD, has given no reason for its circular to private hospitals in the region.
