Criticism forces AAP to scrap wrong appointment

Arvind Kejriwal's AAP government that came to power with the trappings of ruling without fear or favour is doing the opposite and getting into the media for the wrong reasons on a daily basis. The latest AAP fault is the appointment of Health Minister Satyender jain's daughter, Saumya Jain, as the head of the party's mohalla-level health project. Under the project, small clinics will be opened in various localities and health aid given. The point is neither Saumya is a doctor nor medical administrator, she is an architect. Various parties have criticised the AAP move to accommodate their kith and kin for the various posts. Harish Khurana (BJP) pointing this out said Saumya's was not the first such appointment. AAP had been indulging in favouritism for too long. Unusually, the Congress, too, joined the critics. Sandeep Dikshit, former Congress MP, who played a heavy-handed role during the debate on the division of Andhra Pradesh, said Saumya's appointment was against the law. All the critics said the same thing that Saumya, who would be reporting to her father, was totally inexperienced in the medical aid field, and what contribution would she be making for the benefit of society? Amidst widespread criticism, Saumya Jain quit her post on Thursday.
