Lack of coordination hitting civic works, says KTR

Municipal Administration Minister KT Rama Rao carried out a surprise inspection of roads and other civic amenities in the city at midnight on Tuesday night. The minister took a decision to carry out his inspection at midnight to avoid inconvenience to the citizens. KTR inspected amenities like roads, bus shelters, drainage system and ongoing works. After examining the roads and civic amenities at various places, the minister expressed dissatisfaction about the lapses in maintaining them. He instructed the officials to take up repair works and complete pending works immediately. The minister also expressed his displeasure over the poor coordination among the various State and Central government agencies. He directed the officials to double the work force so that the pending works Kukatpalli – Usha Mullapudi lane are completed at the earliest. He asked officials to ensure proper maintenance of basic amenities like roads, bus shelters, footpaths, and sewerage lines in the city. During the surprise inspection, the minister interacted with local residents and sought to know the various problems in their locality. He assured the people that the government would take all possible steps to alleviate the various problems reported by them.
