Teresa May to succeed David Cameron as PM

Theresa May has been desginated as Conservative Prime Minister to succeed David Cameron who decided to step down following the defeat in Brexit referendum. Theresa promised to put workers on the board of major firms and curb excess corporate pay, as she starts her campaign to be Tory leader and PM. The present Home Secretary vowed to put the Conservative Party at the service of the working people. She had campaigned for Britain's stay in the European Union. But after Brexit, she said Brexit means just that. `We are going to make a success of it,' she added. She said: "So if I'm Prime Minister, we're going to change that system - and we're going to have not just consumers represented on company boards, but workers as well." She also promised to strengthen "say on pay" rules, giving shareholders more influence over how much executives are paid.
