Ravula hits out at KCR govt over SD Eye Hospital incident
Hyderabad, July 8: Demanding that the State government order an inquiry into the incident of 13 persons losing eye vision with expert doctors, TTDP senior leader Ravula Chandrasekhar Reddy alleged that 13 persons have lost their eye vision due to TRS government’s eye wash actions. Speaking to the media here on Friday, Ravula alleged that the eye patients were afraid of going to Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital as the situation changed to that level. He said that it was atrocious on the part of the government and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as both were not responded though 13 persons have lost their eye vision. Reminding that the Sarojini Devi Hospital has great history, Ravula said that earlier Presidents used to take treatment to their eyes in the Sarojini Devi Eye Hospital. But the Hospital has been losing its sheen due to TRS government negligent attitude. It was unfortunate that the hospital doctors, staff, rulers and pharmacy wings were trying to escape from the incident, he alleged. Nobody bothered about 13 victims’ fate and were trying to escape from the responsibility, he asserted. The government, which supposed to provide compensation, livelihood and assistance to their helpers, was maintaining silence instead of responding on the incident. The seizure of fungus infected 29,000 saline bottles was astonishing one, he said and questioned as to what need arose to store such huge number of bottles in Nilofeur Hospital. Stating that the condition of the hospitals was known with the Governor’s anger at the management of the Gandhi Hospital, Ravula said that the newspapers published news on the scarcity of the water in NIMS hospital. The same took place in Sarojini Devi Hospital, he said wondering at not getting the water in government hospitals only. It looks the government was trying to neglect the government hospitals to help the corporate hospitals, he said. He asked the government not to protect the persons responsible for the incident and the government has to behave responsibly in regard to public health.
