TOMCOM to help Telangana youth for overseas jobs

To save the youth of Telangana from the unscrupulous and unauthorized private placement agencies, the State government on Friday formed a Company titled TOMCOM vide G.O.Ms. No. 17, June 8, and constituted a Board of Directors with Minister for Labour as Ex-Officio Chairman and with Principal Secretary Home, and the Commissioner, Employment & Training and Secretary, Labour as Directors. TOMCOM, Telangana Overseas Manpower Company, was incorporated under the Company Law in August 2015 and the Union Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs had issued Recruitment Licence to the Company under the Emigration Act in January 2016. In accordance with the provisions of the Emigration Act, the Recruiting Agent TOMCOM had taken up recruitment to build up the confidence in the Telangana Youth for employment in Middle East and South-East Asia and so on. A delegation of officers, led by Ministers for Home and Labour and Nizamabad MP visited Dubai to attend Skill Show organized by Indian Consulate, Dubai, from Feburary 19 to 22, 2016. The delegation showcased the potential of supplying workforce of Telangana State and accordingly TOMCOM entered into an MoU with several reputed employers in Middle East for taking manpower despatched to 750 from Telangana. Messrs Jazeera Emirate Power is one of the Companies that placed job order to TOMCOM on March 27 this year and the job drives were conducted in two stages in Hyderabad and Nizamabad districts. The Company was in the process of issuing 250 visas in the first slot. The Company MD Kishore Babu brought the Visas to TOMCOM on July 2. Under the auspices of TOMCOM, one Narsaiah Thippala of Nizamabad district, an employee, who had died in a tragic road accident on duty, was given compensation for the family. The Company offered employment to son-in-law of Narsaiah and also paid Rs 46,15,008 to the kin of Narsaiah, who died on January 24 this year and body was despatched on the following day by the company. Recently the Indo-American Cancer Hospital Trust came forward to enter into an MoU with TOMCOM for training and overseas placement of Nursing & Para-medical staff. The youth of Telangana could register their names online for overseas placement on tomcom.telengana.gov.in and avail safe and legal migration through TOMCOM.
