Deputy hugs CM at Ramzan lunch; festivities end without incident

On the occasion of holy Ramadan festival that came to a grand finale without any untoward incident, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao along with his ministerial colleagues on Thursday greeted his deputy, Mahamood Ali, at his residence in Hyderabad and extended greetings to him. The Deputy Chief Minister accorded the TRS Supremo a warm welcome with a hug on the occasion and exchanged pleasantries. Mahamood Ali along with TRS MLC Saleem offered traditional scent on the hand of KCR and a gift pack comprising nuts of Kajus, Badam and Kishmish to mark the event. Later the Chief Minister attended the special Ramzan lunch to mark the culmination of the month-long Ramzan fasting at Mahamood Ali’s residence. Those who attended the lunch were ministers E Rajender, Padma Rao Goud, T Srinivas Yadav, A Indrakaran Reddy, and MPs D Srinivas and K Vishweshwar Reddy. Officials heaved a sigh of relief as the Ramzan festivities today ended in a peaceful manner. In the wake of NIA and state police thwarting the possible terror attacks on July 2 by nabbing five suspected terrorists, the Ramzan festival ended in an atmosphere of communal amity. Even the people of other communities like Hindus, Sikhs and others exchanged greetings with their Muslim brethren on the occasion.
