BEL to set up night-vision unit at Nimmakuru

Bharat electronics Ltd plant to manufacture night-vision equipment will be set up in Natasarvabhauma Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao's native place of Nimmakuru in Krishna district. The Central government has decided to set up the plant at Nimmakuru which is between Vijayawada and Machilipatnam. The outlay for the project is stated to be Rs 1000 crore. BEL officials have invited Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Venkaiah Naidu for laying the foundation-stone for the plant. While all Central undertakings are located in Hyderabad, it is perhaps the first public sector undertaking to be set up Krishna district.
