Why TDP wanted some more YCP defections: Karanam

When they were together in the Congress Party, Karanam Balaram, TDP leader, says he had done a lot to get a ministerial position for Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. But that is past and has no relevance now. In an interview to a TV channel, Balaram revealed that the TDP worked for roping in eight more YCP MLAs so that the election of Vijayasai Reddy of the YCP could be blocked. In fact, he said the encouragement to defections was mainly to corner the fourth Rajya Sabha seat for the TDP. In a personal note, he said it was because of differences between the brothers-in-law Chandrababu Naidu and Daggubati Venkateswar Rao that he had lost a great deal. In his view, Gottipati Ravi Kumar, YCP MLA, is a small kid.
