Jangaon tense demanding separate district for 2nd day

Demanding that the State government create Jangaon as a special district, the District JAC observed Jangoan bandh on Saturday also. Commercial and business centres remained closed and the police imposed ban orders under Section 144 Cr.P.C. Section to ensure there was no untoward incident like on Friday. The people of the nearby villages organized a rasta roko on the Warangal-Hyderabad highway near Yashwanthpur and brought the vehicular traffic to a grinding halt up to five kilometres. However, the police intervened and made the protesters to withdraw the rasta-roko by holding discussions with them. As directed by district SP Amber Kishore, additional police forces from Warangal, Mahabubabad and Narsampet were deployed in Jangaon to control the situation.
