Khairatabad Ganesh to appear as Sivanaga Ganapati this year
The famous Ganesha idol at Khairatabad will this year appear as Sivanaga Ganapati. Ganesha will this year sport the face of His Father Shiva with the Nag cobra around His neck.
The tallest Ganesha in Hyderabad will have depictions of Venkateswara Swamy and Goverdhanagiri temples also at the premises of the Khairatabad Utsav Committee this year.
The Shakti Peethas at Sri Lanka and Kashmir will also be on display along with Ganesha idol. Shankari Devi of Trincomalee in Sri Lanka and Saraswati Devi of Kashmir will depict the length of the faith in the country.
The Ganesh idol preparation began at Khairatabad on June 16.
Following the Andhra Pradesh High Court directive, the Utsav committee went into deliberations. Finally it was decided to fix the height of this year's idol at 58 ft, one ft less than last year.
The Khairatabad Ganesh idol and the temple depictions are now in the making.
