Telangana lawyers file police complaint against Central Minister
Angered by rebuff to Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao by Union Law Minister Sadananda Gowda, Telangana lawyers on Wednesday filed a complaint against the Central Minister at Saroornagar police station.
They were enraged by Gowda comment that KCR was welcome to take up dharna at Jantar Mantar. Gowda's ire was KCR suggesting that it was because of the Central delay that the status quo was being maintained at the Andhra Pradesh High Court despite the split of the State.
Telangana lawyers were reminded that the Central Minister, when he last visited the State during the MLC elections, had given an assurance on the split of the High Court. Then he forgot about his assurance. This amounted to cheating. The complaint against Gowda is about the promise and then cheating.
Telangana courts in the entire State were not functioning and the lawyers were attacking the courts at various places. At Medak on Wednesday, the lawyers locked up the court premises. The police broke open the lock. Tension ensued.
