CM charges Opposition with putting hurdles in AP's development

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday bemoaned that while the entire reconstruction of the new State remained, the opposition parties were throwing the spanner in the works. Speaking at a function to allot plots to farmers who gave away their lands for the capital Amaravati consturction at Nelapadu in Guntur district, Chandrababu stated that while hectic efforts were being made for the capital building, the opposition parties were becoming a stumblig block. Fortunately, the farmers who donated their lands did not believe in the false opposition stories. Certain opposition leaders had made a fetish of putting obstacles in the State's development. It was his desire that the capital should be outstanding among capitals in the world. However, the YCP and the Congress had alleged that Rs 100,000 crore scam had taken place in the capital lands. Whare was the scope for such a thing to happen in Amaravati? The opposition parties were making false allegations. If the capital was in place, they were afraid that the people would prosper. This was giving much pain to the opposition leaders. Someone founded a newspaper and falsely named it `Sakshi' (True Witness). It was publishing only false news, he said. If you continue to play with people's lives, he warned the opposition that the government knew how to deal with them. The same people had come in the way of the law taking its course in regard to arsonists who burnt down an entire railway train, he said. The opposition had degenerated to such an extent that they threatened to beat up those doing their honest job by beating them with chappals. Such a fall in values was saddedning, he added.
