Every person plants one sapling, says KTR

Municipal Administration & Urban Development Minister K.T. Rama Rao on Tuesday called upon the people to participate voluntarily in the Haritha Hyderabad programme --- a mass plantation drive --- on July 11 from 10 am to 12 noon. At a review meeting with the GHMC, HMDA and other officials, KTR said the programme would be taken up with a slogan “Every person should plant one sapling each”. To transform the city into a green belt like Maha Yagnam, 25 lakh plants have been kept ready for the big event which will help get rid of environmental pollution and attract rains, he said. The people from all walks of life should attend the mass plantation programme and make it a success. He also asked the officials to provide a website facility and a toll free number to help youth and the people to know and participate in the plantation drive.
