Cop dies as gun goes off in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, June 19: A police constable died when his gun went off at the office of Telangana Police's anti-terror wing OCTOPUS here on Sunday evening, police said. It was not clear if the gun went off accidentally or the constable Shiva Kumar (25) committed suicide. Police said they were investigating. The bullet hit Shiva Kumar on the head and he was shifted to nearby hospital, where he was declared dead by doctors. The incident occurred in the office of Organisation for Counter Terrorist Operations (OCTOPUS) in the busy Begumpet area. Kumar of 13th battalion of Telangana Special Police hailed from Adilabad district. Director General, OCTOPUS, Govind Singh and other senior police officials visited the scene.
