100,000+ girls benefit from Happy Marriage scheme: KCR

The welfare measure of facilitating marriages of girls from the poor families under Kalyana Lakshmi and Shadi Mubarak scheme was taken upon an unprecedented sclae in the country, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao claimed on Thursday. He said for the girls from the poor families, his government was standing like a brother. One lakh families have so far been benefited under this welfare programme. In all, 44,351 Scheduled Caste, 25,793 Scheduled Tribe and 33,913 minority community girls have been benefited under the welfare measure. In all, 1,04,057 girls have been benefited under the programme. A sum of Rs 530 crore was incurred on the girls' weddings, he added.
