Aruna demands Jogulamba district

While the TRS government is raising the number of districts in the state to 24 to 30, Congress leader D.K. Aruna is demanding the designation of Jogulamba district for the Saktipeetham on the banks of the Krishna river in the Gadwal area. Aruna is willing to undertake a fast-unto-death in support of her demand. The fast to be arranged by her husband and former minister, Bhratsimha Reddy, would be either in Gadwal or Hyderabad. Aruna wants the famous Alampur, whose ruling deity is Jogulamba, to be developed on a par with Bhadradri and Yadadri. Alampur is a Saktipeetham along with Bramarambika of Srisailam, Saraswati of Vaishnodevi and Gaya's Mangalyagaurika.
