Rahul Gandhi promises to end drug trade in Punjab
Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Monday promised to end the drug menace in Punjab if his party was voted to power in the next elections.
The Congress organised a Mahadharna in Jalandhar city to protest against the increasing drug menace and deteriorating law and order in Punjab. Speaking on the occasion, Rahul said his party would end narcotics trade which was at present an easy thing to do. Today the trade was a very easy thing to do. The Shiromani Akali Dal government had miserably failed in preventing the growing narcotics trade.
He alleged that those involved in the narcotics trade were benefiting the Akali leaders. He charged that Prime Minister Narender Modi was also neglecting taking action against the narcotics trade.
