As Amit Shah claims TS given Rs 90,000 cr, Shabbir Ali demands details

Leader of Opposition in Telangana State Legislative Council Mohammed Ali Shabbir has described BJP National president Amit Shah's speech at Suryapet as a bundle of lies. Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here on Saturday, Shabbir Ali said that the BJP president had tried to mislead the people of Telangana with wrong statistics and claims. Reminding him of the speech delivered by Narendra Modi as the then Prime Ministerial candidate at LB Stadium, Shabbir Ali said the common people were promised Rs. 15-20 lakh each from the black money that was stashed in foreign accounts. He said people were still awaiting for those Rs. 15 lakhs to be transferred to their accounts. He said the BJP-led NDA government had ruined the country's foreign policy. While Amit Shah was boasting of Narendra Modi's visit to the US, he should also clarify as to why India's relations got strained with immediate neighbours, including Nepal, Pakistan and China. "Modi had proudly claimed that we must exhibit “Chappan Inch Ka Seena” (56 inch chest). However, he failed to react when our soldiers were killed by foreign intruders and terrorists in different incidents, including the Pathankot attack,” he said. He said almost all the schemes, including the surrender of subsidized LPG cylinders, NREGS, Aadhar etc., were originally launched by the UPA government and the BJP Government was now trying to take credit for the same by just renaming them. Shabbir Ali said Amit Shah had no moral right to speak anything on Telangana. "The BJP-led NDA government failed to fulfill a single major promise made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act. Be it 4,000 MW NTPC power plant, Railway Coach Factory at Kazipet, revival of Ramagundam Fertilizer Factory or the bifurcation of the High Court, the BJP government had failed on all fronts. The Congress leader also asked Amit Shah to disclose the details of Rs. 90,000 crore which he claimed were released by the Centre for Telangana. "People of Telangana did not receive them and TRS Government is silent about them. Therefore, either Amit Shah is lying or TRS Government has swindled those funds," he said. The common people have a right to know how those funds were utilized. He said that Telangana was ignored in the distribution of drought relief and also in Union Budgets, Railway Budgets, NITI Ayog, Smart Cities and all other Central schemes.
