Ganta warns Mudragada for demand to treat Tuni criminals as innocents

Kapu supremo Mudragada Padmanabham will not go unchallenged in the context of the unprecedented Tuni violence, Human Resources Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao has warned. Referring to Mudragada's demand for the release of all those arrested in connection with the Tuni violence on the ground that they were innocent, Ganta asked if they were innocent, then who were behind the Tuni violence. The police have arrested 13 perpetrators of the Tuni crimes. They were among those who attacked two police stations in Tuni, beat up the police and set fire to the police stations and the passing by Ratnachal Express completely gutting it. Ganta warned that if Mudragada continued to make demands that criminals should be released, then he also would be treated as a criminal. Mudragada staged dharna at Amalapuram police station on Tuesday, demanding the release of the six arrested in the first instalment of arrests. Seven more were subsequently arrested. The arrested were taken to a secret place and being interrogated. Ganta said Mudragada was weakening the Kapu cause by his actions. The minister also belongs to the Kapu community.
