Big B says if Hollywood comes, Bollywood goes

Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan is not impressed by the talk of simultaneous release of Hollywood films in India. He sees the danger of powerful Hollywood films hitting the Indian cinema is real. The UK, Germany, France, Spain and Japan have all lost their native cinema with the release of Hollywood films in their countries. Big B revealed an anecdote in this regard. He used to visit the US every year. Every time, there were invitations from the film studios such as Warners and Sony to visit them. He told about this to his lawyer friend in New York. He advised me to go and visit them once since he was so curious. So Amitabh went to a studios. There the chief spoke to him about Indian cinema and all its aspects for one 1 full hour without gasping. The actor was surprised by such vast knowledge of Indian cinema in the West. He conveyed this back to his lawyer friend and asked him what it meant. The lawyer friend said: `Mr Bachchan, Go back to your country. Set your film industry right. The Americans are coming. They will stay put.' Amitabh said Hollywood films will gross big in India. Collections for Indian films are then uncertain.
