Centre ignores CAG report, too, for filling AP revenue deficit

The Centre had given Rs 6000 crore to Andhra Pradesh to make good the revenue deficit which was as high as Rs 16,000 crore, Finance Minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu stated on Saturday. Talking to the media, Yanamala said if the Centre at least heeded its own Comptroller and Auditor-General report which fixed the revenue deficit of Andra Pradesh at Rs 15,000 crore, it would be fine. The minister pointed out that Rs 16,000 crore deficit was not the State government's creation, it was the CAG which had given the deficit figure of Rs 15,000 crore at the time of the split of Andhra Pradesh. Finance Minister Arun Jaitley also said the Centre would fulfil the revenue deficit going by the CAG figures. Therefore, he appealed to the Centre to go by the CAG report at least.
