Ex-minister D.L. Ravindra Reddy seeks to join TDP
Former minister Dr D.L. Ravindra Reddy is making moves to joining the ruling TDP, according to political circles in Cuddapah.
Dr Ravindra Reddy had worked in the cabinets of Nedurumalli Janardhan Reddy, Kotla Vijayabhaskar Reddy, K. Rosiah and N. Kiran Kumar Reddy but not that of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, who also belonged to Cuddapah.
It was this difference with the YSR family that had prevented his joining the YCP. After the split of the State, he remained away from politics. In the 2014 polls, he had promised to support the TDP candidate but at the last minute switched to supporting the YCP candidate.
This was being held against Dr Ravindra Reddy in straight away joining the TDP. In fact, because of this factor, his native Mydukur TDP leader Sudhakar Yadav was stated to be opposing the entry of Dr Ravindra Reddy into the ruling party.
The former Congress leader is known for his straightforward nature in politics.
