India suspects State Actors behind Pathankot attack

While India is awaiting a reply from Pakistan to two letters rogatory and several reminders in regard to the Pathankot airbase attack probe, the National Investigation Agnecy is looking into the involvement of State Actors from across the border. `We are examining the role of state actors who might have been involved in the conspiracy behind the attack,' NIA Director-General Saharad Kumar said on Thursday night. He said the case was still under investigation. `We have not given clean chit to anyone. We are examining the role of other players which include State Actors,' he added. Four Pakistani-based terrorists were killed and seven Indian personnel were martyred in the attack which occurred on the night of January 1-2. The gunbattle lasted 80 hours. India is also awaiting a visit by its team to Pakistan. As usual, Islamabad is reluctant to reciprocate any good gesture by this country, which allowed a Pakistani team to visit Pathankot.
