1000 cinemas coming up in Telugu States
A thousand small cinemas are going to come up in the Telugu States. These will be set up in shopping malls, according to Swadeshi Group Director Moturi Krishna Prasad. Talking to the media, Krishna Prasad said on Wednesday that during the festival season the small cinemas were not able to book theatres which were all reserved for the big cinema. Owing to this reason, the Swadeshi group planned to set up 1000 theatres in shopping malls and so on. The group would be allotting Rs 10,000 crore for the project. The new theatres will be a good augury for small cinema makers who face difficulties in getting theatres to release their films. He said the group would also be sponsoring a film institute on the lines of the FTII in Pune. For the purpose a committee would be constituted. Committee members will be film personalities such as Raghavendra Rao, Dasari Narayana Rao and Tammareddy Bharadwaj.
