Rajya Sabha nominees file papers by 12 noon

By 12 noon on Tuesday, all but one nominations were filed from Telugu States to the Rajya Sabha. Those who filed the nominations in the auspicious time included Sujana Chowdary, who was the first to file the papers as told by his priests. He was followed by BJP candidate, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, who is supported by the TDP government. They were followed by Telangana nominations. D. Srinivas, who was accompanied by several Telangana ministers, filed his nomination. He was followed by Capt Laxmikanta Rao. The second candidate of the TDP, T.G. Venkatesh, was expected to file his papers in the afternoon. The YCP nominee, Vijay Sai Reddy, would be filing his second set of nomination papers in the afternoon. Sujana is the only one to file his renomination. All the others have filed their papers for the first time. The vacancies have been created by expiry of their term of Nirmala Sitaraman, Jairam Ramesh and Jesudas Seelam. Nirmala and Jairam have filed their papers from Karnataka. Jesudas Seelam has been left out by the Congress. Jairam Ramesh is the whiz kid who drafted the split of combined Andhra Pradesh, which brought irretrievable ruin to the Congress.
