Repeated chant of Chandranna, Jagan nag Kapu leader

Kapu Garjana leader Mudragada Padmanabham on Monday demanded that a resolution passed by the AP Assembly be sent to the Centre for inclusion of the Kapus among the Backward Classes by August. Otherwise, Padmanabham said, the Kapu Garjana would be back on the streets agitating for the community demands. He was upset by `Chadranna' being named for the Kapu bhavans to come up in the State, or Jagan-Jagan being behind the Kapu agitation or, for that matter, his own name being dragged as `Kapu champion'. Padmanabham clarified that he had met leaders of all political parties, not just YCP's Jaganmohan Reddy. `I have met BJP, TDP and YCP leaders in connection with the Kapu demands,' he added. As for Kapu bhavans, he rejected the ruling party leaders' contention that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was not behind the idea to name the bhavans after Chandranna. He asserted that naming of Kapu bhavans after Chandranna was very much Chandrababu's idea. Chandranna is the popular name for the Chief Minister's welfare gifts under the TDP government.
