TDP Mahanadu demands Bharat Ratna for NTR
The TDP Mahanadu in Tirupati on Saturday unanimously passed a resolution to demand the country's highest civilian award, Bharat Ratna, for the former Chief Minister and party founder, Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao. The demand has been made several times before. But this time, the demand gains special importance. NTR had struggled for the self-respect of the Telugu people and spread the good word in all directions. The resolution was made and unanimously passed by the Mahanadu. It would be sent to the Centre on the conclusion of the Mahanadu celebrations. NTR's widow, Lakshmi Parvati, had also urged the Centre to make the announcement several times.
