Balakrishna says he will impress BJP on SCS

Tollywood Star and Hindupuram MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna said on Saturday at the TDP Mahanadu in Tirupati that he would take up the issue of the promised Special Category Status with the BJP leadership. He noted that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was doing the neeful for protecting the interests of Andhra Pradesh. It remains to be seen how Balakrishna would be able to impress the unyielding BJP leadership on the SCS. He recalled on the occasion that his father and former Chief inister, N.T, Rama Rao, had preserved the self-respect of the Andhras by showing that this State had distinct language and culture and could not be clubbed with the general refrain of the Nortern people that all in the South are Madrasis. Balakrishna particularly noted the services of NTR for the weaker sections. So far as State's development was concerned, Chandrababu was a capable leader who could take AP on the path of development.
