Prostrating people plead for removal of illegal hoardings in Visakhapatnam
People in Visakhapatnam on Monday prostrated before GVMC Commissioner Praveen Kumar to plead with him that the illegal hoardings in the city be removed forthwith. Going by the Hyderabad experience 3 days ago, they pointed out that the illegal hoardings were indeed death traps. Many hoarding fell on the roads in Hyderabad 3 days ago following gales of 150 kmph causing injury to people and traffic jams. While making the appeal, the people prostrated before the Greater Visakhapatnam Municiapal Corporation Commissioner, Praveen Kumar, who was overwhelmed by the people's appeal and told them there would be positive response. Visakhapatnam on the seashore is more prone to heavy winds from the sea, and there is a greater danger of loss of life in the area. They appealed for the immediate removal of the illegal hoardings.
