TDP workers divert Godavari water to Hyderabad

Protesting against the Godavari water supply to Hyderabad when there was not a drop in local tanks, the people struggling for water at Poosala in Sultanabad mandal in Karimnagar district on Saturday diverted the pipeline supplying water to the State capital. They were Telugu Desam Party workers. The water was diverted to the tanks in the area. The protesting TDP workers said after the tanks were filled, they would restore the water supply to the city. The TDP leader in Karimnagar, Vijayarama Rao, said only after the tanks were filled would they restore water the supply to Hyderabad. The police reached the spot, but did not make any arrests. They came, they saw and they went away. As a result, the water supply to Hyderabad had been halted.
