Anti Terrorism Day to be observed on May 21

New Delhi, May 20: The Union Home Ministry has instructed all States and Union Territories to observe May 21 as Anti-Terrorism Day. The objective behind observance of Anti-Terrorism Day was to wean the youth away from terrorism and the cult of violence by highlighting the sufferings of common people and showing as to how it is prejudicial to the national interest. An important feature of the observance of Anti-Terrorism Day is the "Pledge-taking" ceremony in all government offices, public sector undertakings and other public institutions. It requested the State Governments to organize appropriate programs. Accordingly, the Chief Secretary of Telangana has directed all the departments in the Secretariat to arrange to ensure that the Anti- Terrorism Day was observed on May 21 and also administer the Pledge with all the employees working in their respective departments on May 21.
