Intellectual Kanche Ilaiah apologises to Brahmins
Kanche Ilaiah, the other face of intolerance debate, has apologised to the Brahmin community for his remarks against the community.
Ilaiah, who is Professor in Urdu Univertsity, made nasty remarks not only against Brahmins but also against Hindu gods, equating them both, in Vijayawada a couple of days ago.
These remarks were strongly resented by AP Brahmin Welfare Association chief YR Krishna Rao. The chief asked Ilaiah to show him the lazy Brahmins, who would be punished.
Ilaiah's free run of attacks on Brahmins was stopped at Jagtial in Karimnagar district. Ilaiah had to come down from his ivory tower and apologise to the Brahmins. He, however, tweaked saying he was not against Brahmins but against brahminism, whatever he meant by it.
If his remarks had hurt any Brahmins, they should forgive him. He had full respect for Brahmins. He further excused himself saying a Telugu paper had published remarks that he had not made.
