Chalasani Srinivas ends fast on Special Status

Chalasani Srinivas, of Special Category Status Sadhana Samiti, ended his fast on the SCS for Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday afternoon. He continued fasting even after being shifted to hospital in Hyderabad. Andhra Pradesh Minister Pulla Rao and Prabhakar Chaudary, MLA, successfully persuaded Chalasani to give up his fast over Special Status for AP. Talking to the media after ending the fast, Chalasani said the future course action of the Special Status Samiti would be announced on May 18. He said he was happy to note that the students of Osmania University had expressed solidarity with him. Chalasani further said the Centre would have to come down and give Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh and implement all the promises made at the time of the division of combined AP. Till all the demands were conceded, their agitation would continue.
