PF contributors can hope for Govt dwellings

Employees who are eligible for Provident Fund/Pension can hope to have a roof over their and their family's head. If the employees do not have a dwelling, they can expect for one under the plan being concretised by the Central government, according to Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya. While the proposal is expected to benefit the employees contributing to the Provident Fund, they would be provided with dwellings depending on their PF contribution. Dattatreya was answering a question in the Lok Sabha whether there was any housing scheme for the PF contributors. It was decided last year that the PF contributors remittances should directly go toward housing the employees. Some changes are being made to the proposal for introduction, the minister added. The 50 million PF contributors would be eligible for housing under the scheme if they so desired.
