Guntur farmers gave 34,000 acres for Amaravati on my word, says CM

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu affirmed on Saturday that it was because of faith in him that farmers of Guntur district had given away 34,000 acres of their land for the construction of the new AP capital of Amaravati. He said he would try to fulfill their dreams of Amaravati. Participating in `Water-Tree' programme at Kuruvelli in Kurnool district, the Chief Minister said if there was no water there was no future. Therefore, everyone should take part in the programme. Unless we work for saving water, we would not be able to quench our thirst in the future. Only if we save water today, there would be no dearth of it in the future, he added. He said he was working for the future generations. All irrigation projects would be completed by the government. He called upon the people of Kurnool to make the district drought-free. Water-saving should be taken up by all. Chandrababu said all villages in the State would be made smart villages. Every household in villages would be given a gas connection.
