Jitender Reddy comes in for high praise by Jaitley

Telangana Rashtra Samiti MP Jitender Reddy came in for repeated praise from Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Lok Sabha on Thursday during the minister's reply to the Finance Bill, which was passed by the House. Jitender Reddy made serveral suggestions during the debate on such esoteric matters as duplication of laws under the Income-Tax Act and under the Land Acquisition proceedings and also under the Gold Control Order. Jitender Reddy lent his voice for the gold workers in the gullies at Charminar against charging them for cleaning up the gold ornaments. Instead, he said, the gold merchants must be made to pay taxes. Jaitley repeatedly praised Jitender Reddy for his useful suggestions. However, Jitender Reddy along with Odisha MPs voiced their grievances when the Finance Minister stated it was a commitment on the part of the BJP-led government for doing the needful to Andhra Pradesh under the provisions of the AP Reorganisation Act. This occurred during the end of the reply of the Finance Minister. The Speaker, Sumitra Mahajan, who already called for a voice vote, had to tell Jitender Reddy by name to sit down.
