Bhumana flays AP, Telangana on irrigation projects

Bhumana Karunakar Reddy on Tuesday flayed both the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana governments for the irrigation project proposals in the Telugu States. Bhumana said the AP Chief Minister was not uttering a word against not only the Palamuru-Rangareddy project but also several other projects being undertaken by the Telangana government. He was aghast that instead of getting the projects stopped, the AP Chief Minister was advising the Telangana government to get permission from the Central authorities and go ahead with the projects construction. He said the Central permission was made necessary for taking up any new irrigation project in the Telugu States, as mandated in the AP Reorganisation Act. This mandate was being disregarded, he added. Bhumana said to protest against the illegal projects being undertaken by the Telangana government, YCP leader Jaganmohan Reddy was going on a 3-day fast in Kurnool from May 16. As for the TRS government, he said just because of buying a few YCP MLAs, its leaders should not feel proud that they had weakened the Jaganmohan Reddy party. They were only daydreaming. The YCP was not helpless in the matter.
