Tata Group's liberal leave for women staff

The Tatas have taken several steps for the welfare of women employees. These include seven months paid leave in case of a woman employee's pregnancy. After that the woman employee is entitled to work one-and-a-half year's half-a-day. She can also work when its convenient to her. For the women employees who have put in a minimum 5 years service can avail of 1 year additional leave at the rate of half pay for the sake of their children. These changes were announced by the Tata group Human Resource Division chief NS Rajan. The changes would come into force from May, he added.
