Bangalore, once called the city of gardens and as city of lakes, is on the verge of becoming unlivable in 5 years' time, a study by Prof TV Ramachandra, of the prestigious Indian Institute of Science has warned. Bangalore has been over urbanized to the extent of 525% in the last 40 years, the study said. The vegetation cover of the city has been reduced by 78% during the same period.
