Uma Bharati reminds PM of national status for Polavaram

While the Central government and its planning body, NITI Ayog, have ignored the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Reorgnisation Act altogether, the lone ranger fighting and advocating on behalf of AP is Central minister Uma Bharati who is advocating the case and need for funds for the Polavaram project. Uma Bharati wrote a letter to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, reminding him about the national status accorded to the project in the AP Reoganisation Act. She also pointed out that the funds for the Polavaram poject had to be released by the Centre itself. The Uma Bharati letter underscored the need for the release of Central funds for Polavaram. Uma Bharati is advocating the cause of both the Telugu states as though she has taken up the cudgels on behalf of the two States.
