Stop flaying irrigation projects, KCR tells Oppn

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Monday advised the opposition parties to refrain from thoughtless criticism of the irrigation projects in the State, saying his government's main agenda was to meet the irrigation and drinking water needs of the people. Speaking to newsmen after performing the ground-breaking ceremony for the Kaleshwaram lift-irrigation project at Medigadda, KCR told the opposition parties not to create controversies out of irrigation projects. He said his government's aim was to irrigate 1.8 million acres under the Kaleshwaram project. He described the Kaleshwaram project as a boon for the people of North Telangana. He said the Medigadda project had an outlay of Rs 84,000 crore. He had already met Maharashtra chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in this connection. After meeting him again, KCR said the Medigadda project would be taken up at full flow. Many Telangana ministers, MLAs and MLCs particiapted in the ceremony.
